Corona Cases In India Increasing No Cause For Alarm On Covid Outbreak Coronavirus

Covid-19: Once again there is an increase in the cases of corona in the country. In such a situation, the Union Ministry of Health held a meeting with the states and union territories to review the preparations for the management of Kovid-19. This is the third time in the last two weeks that top officials warned the states against the increase in corona cases. Now questions have started arising in the minds of the people that is this another Covid-19 outbreak? If so, how dire is the situation going to be? Let us tell you about it in detail.

In the week ending March 27, an average of 1,471 new corona cases were reported daily. Just a week ago this number was 808. This means there has been an increase of 82 percent in the daily case rate. However, even before understanding this, two things should be kept in mind. First the size of the population of India. According to the data of the Ministry of Health, 10 thousand 981 cases of Kovid-19 are active in the whole of India. Means there are currently only eight people infected with Kovid on 10 lakh Indians. At its peak, India had seen over 3.75 million active cases when the second wave hit in May 2021. That is, about 2,800 people were in the grip of Corona on one million people.

Looks like more danger

Second, there was a significant decrease in the cases of corona in India for several months. In such a situation, even a slight increase in weekly cases increases the rate of growth of weekly cases and in such a situation, more danger is seen. In the first week of February, the average daily cases fell below 100 for the first time since the outbreak of the pandemic. Earlier in 2022, more than 20 thousand cases have been recorded in a single day. After a continuous decline in cases for a long time, now even a slight increase is visible more than before.

Positivity rate is also increasing

Another figure due to which there is fear among the people is regarding the increase in the positivity rate. If you look at the figure, on an average 1.5 percent of all the samples tested in the country last week have been found to be corona positive. It was 1 per cent a week ago and 0.6 per cent in the week before that, but one thing needs to be kept in mind here. In fact, at this time a huge jump is being seen in the cases of Influenza which has motivated people to get more Covid tests done. Most of the symptoms of both the diseases are similar. Which is one of the biggest reasons for increasing the positivity rate at this time.
